The flavor war

Wasabi Ginger Won a contest that gave a chance to create a new Frito-Lay flavor. This flavor beat out mango salsa flavor and cheddar bacon mac and cheese. In more than twelve countries you can cast a vote on line voting for the best flavor. four flavors were put on shelf's all across the United States and people were then able to vote with the knowledge of the taste. Cheesy garlic bread was last years winner and is still sold to this day. Ram Krishnan, a Frito-Lay's chief marketing officer, said "were kind of getting into a new flavor territory." Cappuccino flavor made it to the top four but was then described as "NASTY." The contest launched in fourteen countries starting in the United Kingdom before reaching the United States last year. In other countries winning flavors were pizza in shrimp in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

  1. I think cheddar bacon mac and cheese should have won over wasabi ginger. That sounds disgusting. What does wasabi even taste like? I think there were a whole lot of better choices to choose from than that. If you were able to choose what flavor got to be used what you would have chosen. Now I’m wandering about these wasabi chips and what they taste like. You should bring some in to class so we can try it.

  2. I did not get to try any of these flavors, but wish I could have! I really wanted to try the cheddar bacon mac and cheese. It sounded absolutely mouth watering! I think this was a great advertising trick for Lays. It allows their customers to participate in their company and have fun doing it! I also love the creativity behind the flavors! I would have never thought of making a mango salsa flavored chip, but they made it possible! I love your blog and can't wait to see more posts! :)
